Women's Basketball Takes on Caltech at 7 PM PT

GAME NOTES


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team concludes their California trip with a Monday night game against the Caltech Beavers at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers come in at 0-2 on the season after a pair of losses to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and La Verne.
* Rose-Hulman allowed the Leopards to come back from down 16 in the fourth quarter for a 64-61 win on Saturday night.
* Jamie Baum has led the team in scoring in both games, including a career-high 25 points in Saturday's loss to La Verne.
* Freshman Grace Roland recorded a double-double in her collegiate debut with 10 points and 11 rebounds. She also added 14 points on Saturday.
* Manuella Shomba and Sophia Reese also finished in double figures in the season opener. Reese also led the team with 3 assists.
* Rose-Hulman is led by a strong senior class featuring Ashley Black, Mira Randolph, Peyton Miller, and a pair of newcomers including Neha Vinesh and Shomba. 
* The Fightin' Engineers also brought in a strong five-player freshman class including Reese, Manasi Manikantan, Roland, María Godoy-Rodriguez, and Emilia Diaz.
* Head coach Devrinn Paul is in his first season as a head coach with Rose-Hulman.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the court this weekend as they host the Midwest Challenge. They will host Illinois Wesleyan at 2 PM on Saturday before playing either Wash U or DePauw on Saturday.

CALTECH NOTES:
* Caltech comes in at 1-2 on the season.
* The Beavers picked up an 84-65 win over Bethesda for their first win of the season.
* They fell to UC-Santa Cruz yesterday 72-57.
* Kathryn Edwards leads the team with 18.3 points and 5.0 rebounds this season.
* Saumya Chauhan also averages double figures with 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds.
* The Beavers are coming off an 8th place finish in the SCIAC in 2022-23 with a 5-11 SCIAC record and 8-17 overall.
* They were picked to finish in a tie for 8th in the SCIAC Preseason Poll.
* The Beavers return to the court on Wednesday, November 29 as they open SCIAC play at La Verne.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 2-0 over Caltech.
* The Fightin' Engineers won in 1997 and 2002 with both games being played in Terre Haute.
* This is the first time these two teams have played in Pasadena.
