TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team hosts the 30th Annual Midwest Challenge tournament featuring the DePauw Tigers, the Illinois Wesleyan Titans, and the WashU Bears as well as the Fightin' Engineers.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers come in at 1-2 on the season after picking up their first win of the season on Monday against Caltech.
* Rose-Hulman took down the Beavers 65-54 thanks to 22 points from senior Ashley Black.
* The Fightin' Engineers dropped their first two games of the season to Saint Mary of the Woods and La Verne.
* Jamie Baum has led the team in scoring in two of the first three games, including a career-high 25 points in Saturday's loss to La Verne.
* Freshman Grace Roland is averaging a double-double through three games, and she recorded career-highs with 16 points and 11 rebounds in Monday's win.
* CK Gallegos-Rodriguez has done it all for the Fightin' Engineers this season, averaging 6.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks.
* Rose-Hulman is led by a strong senior class featuring Black, Mira Randolph, Peyton Miller, and a pair of newcomers including Neha Vinesh and Shomba. 
* The Fightin' Engineers also brought in a strong five-player freshman class including Sophia Reese, Manasi Manikantan, Roland, María Godoy-Rodriguez, and Emilia Diaz.
* Head coach Devrinn Paul is in his first season as a head coach with Rose-Hulman, and he picked up his first career coaching win on Monday.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to Hulbert Arena on Sunday for their second game of the tournament. With a loss, Rose-Hulman will play in the third-place game at 2 PM. With a win, they will play at 4 PM in the championship game.

ILLINOIS WESLEYAN NOTES:
* Illinois Wesleyan comes in at 3-2 on the season with losses in back-to-back games.
* The Titans fell 80-73 to #21 Hope on Saturday and 82-80 to #9 Wisconsin-Whitewater on Tuesday.
* Illinois Wesleyan opened the season with three straight wins over Cornell, Luther, and Puget Sound.
* Three Titans are averaging double-figures, and two of them are averaging over 19.0 points per game.
* Lauren Huber leads the team at 20.0 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
* Ava Bardic and Mallory Powers are each also in double figures at 19.6 and 13.4 points per game.
* Bardic, Huber, and Kate Palmer are all averaging over 3.0 assists per game for the Titans.
* Illinois Wesleyan excels on the defensive end of the floor, forcing 18.8 turnovers per game this year, including 20+ in each of their three wins.
* The Titans will return to Hulbert Arena on Sunday for their second game of the tournament. With a loss, Illinois Wesleyan will play in the third-place game at 2 PM. With a win, they will play at 4 PM in the championship game.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Illinois Wesleyan leads the all-time series 4-2 over Rose-Hulman.
* The Fightin' Engineers won the last meeting in 2021, a 69-64 win in Bloomington.
* This will be just the second all-time meeting in Terre Haute between the Titans and the Fightin' Engineers. Rose-Hulman won the first in 2015 by a score of 70-46.
