Women's Basketball Battles Elmhurst in Saturday Non-Conference Tilt

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team hosts the Elmhurst Blue Jays in a Saturday non-conference tilt at 2 PM on December 16.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers comes in at 3-6 on the season and 2-2 in HCAC play after dropping back-to-back HCAC games to Mount St. Joseph and Hanover in the past week.
* Rose-Hulman beat Anderson 83-72 and Bluffton 62-55 in their first two HCAC games of the season. It was their first 2-0 start in the HCAC since 2017.
* Jamie Baum, a second-team all-HCAC selection in 2022, is leading RoseHulman in scoring with 14.0 points per game. She scored a career-high 25 points in the loss to La Verne earlier this season.
* Grace Roland has scored in double figures in seven of nine games this season. She has also recorded five games with nine or more rebounds.
* Manuella Shomba has dominated inside for the Fightin' Engineers this season. She has scored 16 points or more in four of the last five games.
* Sophia Reese tied her career-high with 13 points against Hanover. She has scored in double figures four times this season, and she has four games with four or more assists.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the road for the first time in three weeks as they travel to Spalding on Friday, December 22 for their final game of the calendar year.

ELMHURST NOTES:
* The Blue Jays come into the weekend at 4-5 and 1-3 in CCIW play.
* Elmhurst has dropped three of their last four games with their lone win coming over North Park.
* The Blue Jays have lived on the road this season with eight of their first ten games coming on the road.
* Following Saturday, Elmhurst will play five consecutive games in their home gym.
* Shanyce Makuei leads the team in scoring this season with 15.6 points per game. She also leads the team with 6.6 rebounds. 
* Kristin Bukata also averages double figures with 10.0 points and 4.3 rebounds. She also leads the team with 3.0 assists per game.
* Tyreshia Sessions has led the defense this season with 3.2 steals per game.
* The Blue Jays will return to the court tomorrow as they host the Lawrence University Vikings at 4 PM.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Elmhurst leads the all-time series 4-1 over Rose-Hulman.
* The Blue Jays won all four games from 1995-1998 in the first four years of Rose-Hulman's basketball program.
* The Fightin' Engineers won 87-51 in 2021 in the only meeting in the last 25 years between the two schools. 
* Jordan Barlow scored a career-high 21 points in the 2021 meeting, and Mira Randolph added 16 points for the second-most in a game in her career.
