Women's Basketball Hosts Mount St. Joseph for HCAC Home Opener

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team opens their HCAC home slate with a Saturday doubleheader against the Mount St. Joseph Lions at 1 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers come in at 3-4 on the season with a pair of back-to-back road wins over Anderson and Bluffton last week.
* This is the first time that Rose-Hulman has won their first two HCAC games of the season since they did it three years in a row from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
* All of Rose-Hulman's losses have come down to the wire. The Fightin' Engineers fell to La Verne by three and DePauw by six.
* Jamie Baum, a second-team all-HCAC selection in 2022, is leading RoseHulman in scoring with 14.7 points per game. She scored a career-high 25 points in the loss to La Verne earlier this season.
* Senior guard Ashley Black has scored in double figures in five straight games. She scored a season-high 22 against Caltech.
* Grace Roland has scored in double figures in six of seven games this season. She leads the team with 14.5 points per game in HCAC play.
* Manuella Shomba has dominated inside for the Fightin' Engineers this season. She tallied 18 points and 8 rebounds in the loss to DePauw, and she recorded 19 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Anderson.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to their home court on Wednesday, December 13 as they host the Hanover Panthers at 7:30 PM.

MT. ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph comes in at a perfect 7-0 on the seaosn and 1-0 in the HCAC.
* The Lions took down Manchester 63-43 on Saturday in their HCAC opener.
* Whitney Warfel leads the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game and adds 5.6 rebounds.
* Morgan Jenkins adds 12.6 points per game and has made double-digit threes this season. She also averages over 3 assists per game on the year.
* As a team, the Lions have struggled from the outside at just 26.4% shooting from three.
* Mount St. Joseph returns to their home floor on Saturday, December 16 as they take on Hanover.
