TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team recorded 13 top-three finishes to record a 3rd-place team finish at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships this weekend at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.

Cate Stauffer became Rose-Hulman's first HCAC individual event champion since 2018 with 2 event championships.  Stauffer won the 400-individual medley in a time of 4:42.54 and the 1650-freestyle in a time of 18:28.26.

Natalija Pumpurs added a 2nd-place finish in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:00.79.

Third-place individual finishers included Brooke Covert in the 200-butterfly; a tie between teammates Therese Jaeger and Allison Kirk in the 400-individual medley; Lauren Meyer in the 200-individual medley; Pumpurs in the 200-backstroke; and Stauffer in the 500-freestyle.  All five relay teams also finished 3rd for the Rose-Hulman women's squad.

Franklin took home the top team honors, followed by Transylvania and Rose-Hulman in the 6-team meet.  The 3rd place finish ties for Rose-Hulman best placement at the HCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships since 2019.
