Men's Tennis Visits Principia on Saturday at 3 PM CT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis season continues on Saturday afternoon against Principia at 3:00 PM CT.

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into the match at 0-2 on the season with losses to Wabash (2-7) and Millikin (1-8).
* Rhian Seneviratne led the Fightin' Engineers with wins at 3 singles and 2 doubles, with Renato Prado, in the Wabash match.
* Corey Pollard picked up the lone win against Millikin at 6 singles.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with 7 consecutive HCAC Tournament championships dating to 2015.
* The Fightin' Engineers have appeared in 7 straight NCAA Division III men's tennis tournaments entering the 2023 season.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 57-1 record in its last 58 matches against HCAC competition.
* The Fightin' Engineers return 2 all-HCAC players (Owen Reynolds and Grant Paradowski) from the 2022 season.  The returnees also include Seneviratne, an honorable mention all-HCAC selection.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season under the direction of first-year head coach Greg Couch.  Couch comes to Rose-Hulman with 5 seasons of college head coaching experience at NAIA Roosevelt University in Chicago.
* Couch, an award winning journalist who has covered nearly every major sporting event including five Olympics, has also been a tennis club teaching pro at teaching academies in suburban Chicago since 2015.

PRINCIPIA NOTES:
* Principia comes into the match at 4-0 with a pair of wins over University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis and a tri-meet sweet over Simpson and Illinois Wesleyan.
* The Panthers will battle Hendrix on Friday night before the Fightin' Engineers come to town.
* Rafter Sprague leads the Panthers at a perfect 4-0 in singles matches at #3 and #5 this season. He is also 2-1 in doubles. Sprague fell to Owen Reynolds 6-2, 6-4 last season.
* Senior Juan Segovia is stands at 3-1 at both #1 singles and #1 doubles this season. Segovia won both of his matches against the Fightin' Engineers last season.
* A pair of freshmen with Jesus Soto and Ernesto Botero are a perfect 5-0 combined in both singles and doubles this season.
* Principia will return to the court next on Thursday, February 23 as they host the University of the Ozarks.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 6-3.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won five of the last six matches with the Panthers.
* The lone loss since the 1982 season came in 2021.
