TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team battle the hosts Manchester in the HCAC Semifinal round of the 2023 HCAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Fightin' Engineers are seeking their first HCAC Tournament title since their three-peat from 2012 to 2014. The Spartans are looking to win their first title since the 2010-11 season and second title since their three-peat from 1993-95.

ROSE-HULMAN (16-10, 12-6 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes in at an even 6-6 on the road this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have won six of their last seven games with the lone loss coming to Anderson on Tuesday.
* Rose-Hulman is coming off a pair of last-second wins last week. They took down Franklin 73-71 on a tip-in by Miles McGowen at the buzzer on Friday. Then, on Sunday, they took down Transylvania in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament thanks to a triple by Willie Bowman with 20 seconds to go.
* With the win over Transylvania, the Fightin' Engineers earned their 16th win of the season. This gives them the most wins in a season since the 2018-19 season.
* With a win over Manchester, the Fightin' Engineers would tie the most wins in a single-season since the 2013-14 NCAA Tournament season.
* Max Chaplin leads the team with 14.6 points per game. He recorded his career high of 26 points in the win over Defiance earlier this season. He has scored in double figures in 13 straight games including 21 points in Sunday's win over Transylvania.
* Miles McGowen also averages double figures with 12.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game with seven double-doubles. He added 18 points and 9 rebounds in Sunday's win over Transylvania.
* Willie Bowman, Bradley Harden, Kobe Stoudemire have been lights out from three, shooting a combined 113-256 (44.1%) this season.
* Terry Hicks and Harden are each just shy of double figures at 9.6 and 9.4 points per game this season. 
* Bowman leads the team in the last six games averaging 17.0 points per game. He added a career-high 26 points in the win over Bluffton earlier this season.
* Nick Sales is completing his first year at Rose-Hulman. Sales was associate head coach at Marietta for the past nine seasons where he won seven OAC regular season championships, made three NCAA tournaments, and reached the NCAA Division III Final Four in 2022. Sales was 204-45 on staff at Marietta.
* With a win, Rose-Hulman will advance to the HCAC Championship game on Saturday at Manchester against the winner of Anderson and Hanover.

MANCHESTER (16-9, 14-4 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Manchester comes in at 16-9 on the season and 11-7 in the HCAC which earned the #1 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* Manchester comes in as the hottest team in the conference with wins in 10 of their last 11 since their loss at Rose-Hulman. Their only loss in that stretch came at home in an overtime thriller, 93-92 to Rose-Hulman.
* The Spartans are 8-4 at home this season with their losses coming to Kalamazoo and Adrian in a slow start to the season and Anderson and Rose-Hulman in conference play.
* Manchester has three different players scoring over 16 points per game with Zach Sawyer (16.9), Bryant Smith (16.4), and Logan Willoughby (16.3).
* Ty Lynas and Quentez Columbus each score 13.0 points per game as well.
* Those five players combine for 82% of the Spartans points this season.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 37-27
* The Fightin' Engineers swept the season series this season with an 82-79 win at home and 93-92 win on the road.
* Rose-Hulman has won six of the last seven games and 11 of the last 13 games against Manchester
* The Spartans are just 3-9 at home against the Fightin' Engineers going back to the 2011-2012 season.
* Rose-Hulman has won 21 of the last 25 over the Spartans going back to the 2011-2012 season.

* Miles McGowen currently ranks 1st in single-season offensive rebounds (78) and 1st in single-season offensive rebounds per game (3.1) since the stat began being tracked in 1992.
* Max Chaplin currently ranks 8th in career three-point field goal attempts (355) and 9th in career three-point field goals (128). He is also 14th in single-season three-point field goal attempts this year with 140.
* Terry Hicks currently ranks 15th in offensive rebounds per game (1.4).
