TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team takes on Anderson in the championship game of the 2023 HCAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The Fightin' Engineers have reached their sixth HCAC Title Game in the last 2 years, and they are seeking their first HCAC Tournament title since their three-peat from 2012 to 2014. The Ravens are searching for their first-ever HCAC Championship in just their third title game appearance since the tournament began in 1989. In their last HCAC Championship appearance in 2010, the Ravens fell to Defiance who was led by the HCAC Player of the Year and current Rose-Hulman coach, Nick Sales.

ROSE-HULMAN (17-10, 12-6 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers have won seven of their last eight games with the lone loss coming to Anderson last Tuesday.
* Rose-Hulman is coming off three straight one possession wins. Miles McGowen scored the game-winning tip-in at the buzzer against Franklin, and Willie Bowman hit shots in the final minute against both Transylvania and Manchester to put the Fightin' Engineers in front.
* With the win over Manchester, the Fightin' Engineers earned their 17th win of the season. This gives them the most wins in a season since the 2013-14 season that culminated in the last Rose-Hulman HCAC title.
* With a win over Anderson, the Fightin' Engineers would win their most games since the Jim Shaw era ended in 2014.
* Max Chaplin leads the team with 14.3 points per game. He recorded his career high of 26 points in the win over Defiance earlier this season. He had scored in double figures in 13 straight games including 21 points in Sunday's win over Transylvania prior to his 8-point performance in the win over Manchester.
* Miles McGowen also averages double figures with 13.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game with eight double-doubles. He led the Fightin' Engineers with a career-high 27 points and added 14 rebounds in the win over Manchester.
Willie BowmanBradley Harden, Kobe Stoudemire have been lights out from three, shooting a combined 117-266 (44.0%) this season.
* Terry Hicks and Harden are each just shy of double figures at 9.4 and 9.3 points per game this season. 
* Bowman leads the team in the last seven games averaging 16.3 points per game. He added a career-high 26 points in the win over Bluffton earlier this season.
* Nick Sales is completing his first year at Rose-Hulman. Sales was associate head coach at Marietta for the past nine seasons where he won seven OAC regular season championships, made three NCAA tournaments, and reached the NCAA Division III Final Four in 2022. Sales was 204-45 on staff at Marietta.
* With a win, Rose-Hulman will earn a berth to the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

ANDERSON (17-9, 14-4 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Anderson comes in at 17-9 on the season and 14-4 in the HCAC which earned them the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* The Ravens have won five of their last six games with their lone loss coming to Manchester in the HCAC Regular Season title game.
* Anderson is led by their scoring duo of Tate Ivanyo and Camden Smith. Ivanyo is averaging 17.8 points per game on 43% shooting from the outside, and Smith adds 14.7 points per game.
* Their freshman duo of Elijah Mattingly and Bryson Huckeby each add over 9 points per game.
* Anderson is seeking their first-ever HCAC title and second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Ravens earned an at-large bid in the 2009-10 season.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 43-30.
* The Fightin' Engineers won the only HCAC Tournament matchup over the Ravens back in 2018.
* Anderson swept Rose-Hulman this season with wins of 69-55 and 80-66.
* Anderson leads the series 10-9 since 2014 and with Anderson leading 21-19 since the turn of the century in 2000.

RECORD BOOK:
* Miles McGowen currently ranks 1st in single-season offensive rebounds (84) and 1st in single-season offensive rebounds per game (3.1) since the stat began being tracked in 1992.
* Max Chaplin currently ranks 8th in career three-point field goal attempts (363) and 8th in career three-point field goals (130). He is also 12th in single-season three-point field goal attempts this year with 148.
* Terry Hicks currently ranks 15th in offensive rebounds per game in a career (1.4) since the stat began being tracked in 1992.
