TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis season continues this week with four matches in three days in Orlando. The Fightin' Engineers will take on a trio of MIAA opponents with a match with NAIA, Bethel, mixed in as well.
FLORIDA SPRING TRIP SCHEDULE:
Monday, February 27 - vs. Adrian - 12 pm - W 5-4
Monday, February 27 - vs. Bethel - 4 pm - L 0-7
Tuesday, February 28 - vs. Calvin - 5:30 pm
Wednesday, March 1 - vs. Albion - 12 pm
ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into the trip at 1-2 on the season with a win over Principia (6-3) and losses to Wabash (2-7) and Millikin (1-8).

Rhian Seneviratne leads the Fightin' Engineers with 5 singles wins on the season.
*
Owen Reynolds has added 4 singles wins, and
Corey Pollard and
Renato Prado each have added 3.
* Reynolds brought home the HCAC Player of the Week award last week after his wins at #1 Singles and #1 Doubles against Principia.
* In doubles, Prado, Reynolds, Seneviratne, and
Andrew Leonard all lead the team with 4 wins.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with 7 consecutive HCAC Tournament championships dating to 2015.
* The Fightin' Engineers have appeared in 7 straight NCAA Division III men's tennis tournaments entering the 2023 season.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 57-1 record in its last 58 matches against HCAC competition.
* The Fightin' Engineers return 2 all-HCAC players (Reynolds and
Grant Paradowski) from the 2022 season. The returnees also include Seneviratne, an honorable mention all-HCAC selection.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season under the direction of first-year head coach
Greg Couch. Couch comes to Rose-Hulman with 5 seasons of college head coaching experience at NAIA Roosevelt University in Chicago.
* Couch, an award winning journalist who has covered nearly every major sporting event including five Olympics, has also been a tennis club teaching pro at teaching academies in suburban Chicago since 2015.
OPPONENT NOTES:
* Adrian comes in at 3-2 on the season with wins over Manchester, Anderson, and Olivet. The Bulldogs fell to both Ohio Northern and Bethel. This will be the first match of the spring season for Adrian.
* The Bulldogs finished 9-10 last season with a 5th place finish in the MIAA.
* Bethel comes into the spring season at 3-10. The Pilots picked up wins over St. Francis, Mount Vernon Nazarene, and Adrian this fall. This will be their first match of the spring season.
* The Pilots finished last season 8-18. They finished 2-6 in the NAIA Crossroads League this fall and took home 7th place in the league.
* Calvin comes into the trip 4-0 with wins over Concordia (MI), Capital, Milwaukee School of Engineering, and Ripon. The Knights will play matches on Monday and Tuesday morning prior to their meeting with Rose-Hulman.
* The Knights finished 11-8 last season with a 4th place finish in the MIAA.
* Albion comes in at 2-2 on the season with wins over Concordia (MI) and Manchester and losses to St. Francis and Greenville. The Britons will play matches on Monday and Tuesday prior to their meeting with Rose-Hulman.
* The Britons finished 8-8 last season with a 6th place finish in the MIAA.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads Adrian 3-0 all-time. The Fightin' Engineers beat the Bulldogs three straight times in Florida from 2016-2018.
* The Fightin' Engineers have never played Calvin, Albion, or Bethel in the program's history.
