Baseball Win Streak Reaches Five with Saturday Sweep of Alma

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology increased its baseball winning streak to five games with a 4-0 and 9-6 doubleheader sweep over Alma College on Saturday at Art Nehf Field.

In the opener, Ian Kline tossed six shutout innings and Evan Chung pitched three scoreless innings in a 4-0 victory.

Kline allowed just three hits with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.  Chung allowed no hits with one strikeout to pick up his first career save.

Andy Krajecki led the Rose-Hulman offense with three singles and two runs scored.  Ben Christiansen added two singles and three RBIs, and Peter Rogers contributed two singles to the Fightin' Engineer performance.  Jonathan Oliger pitched in with a double and one RBI.

In the nightcap, Rose-Hulman relied on patience at the plate and timely hitting in a 9-6 victory.

The Fightin' Engineers drew 12 walks in the contest, with Dalton Busboom tying a single-game school record with four walks drawn.

Mark Serdinak led the game two offense with two hits, including a double, and three RBIs.  Krajecki added one hit, one run and two RBIs.

Colter Couillard-Rodak, Christiansen and Mason Rasmussen scored two runs for the balanced offensive attack.

Zacheus Carr came out of the bullpen with 3.1 scoreless innings to pick up the win.  Oliger pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up the save.

Rose-Hulman improved to 6-3 on the season, while Alma dropped to 4-9-1.  The Fightin' Engineers and Scots conclude their 3-game series on Sunday at noon.
