Women's Tennis Hosts Goshen and Trine in Weekend Doubleheader

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis season continues this weekend with a doubleheader against Goshen and Trine. The Fightin' Engineers host Goshen on Saturday at 11 AM before hosting Trine on Sunday at 11 AM. Sunday will also be Senior Day for the Fightin' Engineers where they will honor their lone senior, Julia McGuire. Both matches will take place indoors at the Brickway Tennis Center in Terre Haute, Indiana.

ROSE-HULMAN WOMEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into this match at 7-8 on the season with wins over both Adrian and Albion during their Florida spring trip last week.
* The Fightin' Engineers have dropped four of their last five matches to tough competition including NAIA Bethel, Calvin, Greenville, and DePauw.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished third in the fall HCAC season.
* Taylor Goldman and Wynne Aldrich currently lead the team in singles wins with 11 at #1 and #2 singles.
* Julia McGuire and Violet Keith have added 6 singles wins at #5 and #6 singles.
* Goldman and Aldrich both lead the team in doubles wins as well with 8.
* Ella Dorfmueller has added 7 doubles wins.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the court on Tuesday night for a road match at Division one IUPUI.

GOSHEN NOTES:
* Goshen comes in at just 3-9 on the season against a tough NAIA schedule.
* The Maple Leafs picked up wins over Judson, Grace, and St. Francis (IN) in their fall schedule.
* This will be the first match of the Goshen spring season.
* Goshen is led by their top-three players at #1, 2, and 3 singles.
* Freshman Carmen Aliaga and Sude Aytekin each lead the team with eight singles wins on the season.
* Sophomore Szofia Kallai leads the team in doubles wins with nine.
* The Maple Leafs will finish their season on April 22 as they host Bethel.

TRINE NOTES:
* Trine comes into the season at 7-3.
* The Thunder and Fightin' Engineers have played three common opponents including Anderson, Franklin, and Manchester. 
* Trine beat Anderson (6-3), Franklin (9-0), and Manchester twice (6-3 and 9-0).
* Rose-Hulman fell to Anderson twice (4-5 and 4-5), beat Franklin (6-3), and beat Manchester twice (8-1 and 8-1).
* Freshman Emilee Bassett leads the team in both singles and doubles wins with 12 and 9. 
* Fellow freshmen Elina Locane and Alexis Maloney have both combined for 16 total wins on the season.
* The Thunder return to the court next Saturday as they open MIAA competition at Albion.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Saturday will be the first-ever match between Goshen and Rose-Hulman.
* On Sunday, the Fightin' Engineers will also host Trine for the first-time in program history.
* Rose-Hulman won the lone meeting with Trine back in 2014.
* The Fightin' Engineers won 5-4 in a match that came down to a third-set tiebreaker at #5 Singles.
