Men's Tennis Hosts Greenville on Saturday for Home Opener

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis season opens their home season with a match against Greenville on Saturday.  Doubles action begins at 10:30 am at Brickway Tennis and Pickleball Club in Terre Haute.

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into the match at 4-3 on the season with wins over a trio of MIAA teams including Albion, Adrian, and Calvin.
* Grant Paradowski and Rhian Seneviratne lead the team with seven wins at #2 and #3 singles.
* Owen Reynolds, Renato Prado, and Andrew Leonard join Seneviratne to lead the team in doubles wins with six.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with 7 consecutive HCAC Tournament championships dating to 2015.
* The Fightin' Engineers have appeared in 7 straight NCAA Division III men's tennis tournaments entering the 2023 season.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season with a 57-1 record in its last 58 matches against HCAC competition.
* The Fightin' Engineers return 2 all-HCAC players (Reynolds and Paradowski) from the 2022 season.  The returnees also include Seneviratne, an honorable mention all-HCAC selection.
* Rose-Hulman enters the season under the direction of first-year head coach Greg Couch.  Couch comes to Rose-Hulman with 5 seasons of college head coaching experience at NAIA Roosevelt University in Chicago.

GREENVILLE NOTES:
* Greenville comes into the match at 6-4 on the season.
* The Panthers are just 3-4 in the spring season against an incredibly tough schedule that included matches against Illinois Wesleyan, Transylvania, Birmingham Southern, and Covenant.
* Greenville played Albion two weeks ago and brought home the same result, an 8-1 win.
* The Panthers return five of their six players from last season with their lone player lost being their #5 singles player.
* Andres Sanchez leads Greenville with a 7-3 record at #1 singles, and Rafael Rodriguez has added a 6-4 record at #2 singles.
* In doubles, the #2 doubles team of Clark Kent and Luke Motsinger leads the way at 5-4.
* Greenville returns to the court with a home match against Franklin later on Saturday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 13-7.
* Greenville won last season's meeting 8-1.
* Rose-Hulman had won 9 of the last 10 matches prior to last season.
