TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 4-1 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis action with a 5-4 win over Franklin College on Saturday at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
Rose-Hulman trailed 2-1 after doubles play, but won four of the six singles matches to take home the win.
The No. 2 doubles team of
Grant Paradowski and
Andrew Leonard picked up an 8-1 victory to keep the Fightin' Engineers within striking distance.
Rose-Hulman took a 3-2 lead after quick straight set wins from
Owen Reynolds at No. 1 and Paradowski at No. 2. Straight set wins from
Andrew Leonard at No. 5 and then
Renato Prado with the clinching point at No. 4 secured the victory.
Rose-Hulman improved to 9-8 on the season and 4-1 in HCAC play, while Franklin stands 4-11 and 1-3 in league matches. The Fightin' Engineers close the regular season at Hanover College on Saturday April 22.
