Volleyball Hosts Webster for Home Opener on Tuesday at 7 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball team hosts the Webster Gorloks on Tuesday at 7 PM for the Home Opener for the Fightin' Engineers.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into the weekend at 5-6 on the season.
* The Fightin' Engineers are coming off a 1-3 weekend at Augustana that included several hard fought matches.
* Lily Ebright picked up where she left off in 2022 by winning the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week award in three consecutive weeks and for the seventh time in the last 11 weeks dating back to last year. She recorded 109 digs in fourth matches with a whopping 9.08 digs per set in those matches. She also had two matches with over 12 digs per set.
* Ebright, the defending HCAC Defensive Player of the Year, currently leads every player in all divisions of the NCAA in digs per set with 6.97. She leads the next highest person by 0.22, and she ranks third in Division III in total digs with 272.
Allie Fults also helped lead the defense with outstanding blocking efforts. Fults ranks 31st in the nation in blocks with 39 and 37th in the nation in blocks per set with 1.00.
Kate Wood and Jillian Gregg lead the offensive attack for the Fightin' Engineers. Wood has totaled 102 kills with a .265 hitting percentage on the year. Gregg has 248 assists and 6.36 assists per set.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to action this weekend for the Rose-Hulman Volleyball Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

WEBSTER NOTES:
* Webster comes into this match at 3-6 on the season and 1-1 in the SLIAC.
* The Gorloks split a SLIAC doubleheader on Saturday with a loss to Greenville and a win over Blackburn.
* The two teams have no common opponents at this point in the season.
* Webster's win over Blackburn snapped a three-game losing streak.
* Alyssa Jones leads the team with 58 kills on the season, and the Gorloks have four other players with more than 35 kills in their balanced attack.
* Megan Zablonski has been big on her serve this year with 13 service aces to lead the team.
* The Webster front line of Grace White and Olivia Powell lead the Gorloks with 44 combined blocks up front.
* Webster will return to the court on Friday, September 22 as they travel to Monmouth College.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads Webster 9-4 in the all-time series.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won five consecutive matchups with the Gorloks including a pair of five-set wins in 2021 and 2022.
* The last win for the Gorloks came in 2016, and the last Gorloks win in Terre Haute was back in 2013.
* Rose-Hulman has won 8 of the last 9 matches with Webster.
