Women's Soccer Opens HCAC Play at MSJ on Wednesday at 7 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team opens their 2023 HCAC play with a road match at Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday at 7 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes into the game at 2-1-4 on the season.
* The Fightin' Engineers dropped their first game of the 2023 season on Friday as they fell 3-0 to #4 Wash U.
* Despite the loss, Rose-Hulman became the first team this season to record multiple shots on goal on the stingy Bears defense.
* Sophomore Ella Johnson was named the HCAC Offensive Player of the Week this week after recording a hat trick in the 3-3 draw with Webster last Wednesday. Johnson became the just the 10th-ever player to record a hat trick in Rose-Hulman history, and she is the first player to do so since 2019.
* Johnson's hat trick is also the fastest-ever as she did so in just 9:02 of playing time. It is also the fifth-fastest time between a player's first and third goals at 8:31 seconds, the fastest since Julie Roebel in 2007. Jessica Farmer holds the record of 4:15 in a hat trick against Millsaps in 2000.
* Junior goalkeeper Lily Doré has won the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week award twice this season and has made 29 saves to just 8 goals allowed.
* Kyra Hicks leads the team with five goals on the season.
* Alex Adams is the only player on the team this year with both multiple goals and multiple assists.
* Six Rose-Hulman players have tallied multiple assists on the season including Adams, Katie Choi, Endia Clark, Jayden Gibson, Lauren Marquardt, and Kiana Martin.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the pitch on Saturday as they travel to Earlham for a doubleheader with the men's team.

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph comes into HCAC play at 2-4-2 on the season.
* The Lions dropped their last match on Sunday against Otterbein 2-0.
* Mount St. Joseph is 0-3-2 in their last five matches, and they have not won a match since their 1-0 win over Marietta on September 9.
* Without their 7-0 win over Berea, the Lions have scored just 4 goals in seven games this season.
* Junior forward Mckenzie Schneeman leads the team with five goals this season. 
* Mary Anhofer and Kerigan Pollard have recorded all five of the assists for the Lions.
* In goal, Alyse Harris leads the team with 22 saves and just 7 goals allowed. Just is averaging just 1.15 goals allowed per game and has one clean sheet this season.
* The Lions return to their home turf on Saturday night as they host Franklin College at 6 PM.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Mount St. Joseph leads the all-time series with Rose-Hulman 10-8-2.
* The two teams tied 0-0 in Terre Haute last year to open HCAC play. The Fightin' Engineers outshot the Lions 17-10 and 7-3 in shots on goal.
* The last Rose-Hulman win in the series came in 2020, a 1-0 victory.
* The Fightin' Engineers have not win in Cincinnati since 2016.
* Rose-Hulman leads the series 4-2-2 since their win in 2016.
