Men's Soccer Draw Wabash 2-2 in Physical Battle

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team draws Wabash 2-2 in a physical mid-week contest.

The Fightin' Engineers got on the board early in this one as Connor Patton drilled a shot into the upper corner off a corner kick from Caleb Urban in the 13th minute.

Wabash would answer, however, in the 20th minute on a goal from Jose Escalante to tie the game.

We would go into the half tied 1-1 after an incredibly even half that had each team with five shots.

In the second half, the Little Giants bursted out of the gates with the go-ahead goal in the 47th minute as Bryan Kinnaman dribbled through several Rose-Hulman defenders, and he put one past a diving Trinh following a nice give and go with Escalante.

Rose-Hulman would answer in the 57th minute as Peter Borger found Urban with a beautiful long ball, and Urban crossed one into the box to find Owen Trudt for his first goal of the season.

After the 65th minute, the physicality of the game would really pick up with four cards in the final 25 minutes. Kinnaman, Bruno Zamora, Myles Bernat, and Jerry Little would all pick up cards for Wabash. Salik Ahmad picked up the lone yellow card for Rose-Hulman.

The Fightin' Engineers had a plethora of chances in the final 25 minutes of the game as they outshot Wabash 6-0, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

Michael Trinh finished with two saves in the draw. Freshman Chase Kedzior ended the game as the shot leader for the Fightin' Engineers with five.

Urban assisted both Rose-Hulman goals which puts him tied for the Career Assists record at Rose-Hulman with 26.

Rose-Hulman will return to action on Sunday afternoon as they travel to Naperville, Illinois to take on #20 North Central at 2 PM CT.
