RICHMOND, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's basketball team traveled to face Earlham College on Wednesday night. The team came home with a victory over the Quakers with a final score of 63-50. This advances the team to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC.
Ashley Black led the Engineers in scoring with 17 points on the night while also securing seven rebounds.
Manuella Shomba also reached double figures in scoring with 14 points and eight rebounds.
CK Gallegos-Rodriguez led the team on the boards recording nine rebounds in the contest.
The Engineers built a commanding lead at the end of the first half with the score at 30-19 heading into halftime. The Quakers battled back to cut the lead to four on a made three-pointer with 7:28 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Engineers answered with a 12-2 run highlighted by strong free throw shooting to build the lead back to 59-45 with 2:53 remaining.
Rose-Hulman would hold on to claim the win and move to .500 on the season. The team will return to action hosting #2 Transylvania on Saturday, 1/13 at 1 PM.
