TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's track & field team hosted their first meet of the Friday Night Spikes Series this Friday. The team welcomed WashU and Manchester to the their home opener, and the Fightin' Engineers placed second as a team overall just five points behind WashU.
Rose-Hulman was able to claim 15 top-three finishes and six event wins on the night.
Jailen Hobbs was the standout earning a first place finish in the 60-meter dash (6.82) and the 200-meter dash (22.55). His prelim time of 6.81 in the 60-meter dash ranks as the second fastest time in NCAA Division III so far this season and just 0.03 seconds off his own school record.
Tim Youndt also had a busy night claiming a pair of first place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles (8.67) and the triple jump (47' 4.5"). His mark in the triple jump ranks fourth in all of NCAA Division III.Â
Kyle Brownell also picked up a nationally recognized mark in the high jump. Brownell cleared a height of 6' 7.75" earning him first place in the event. His mark ranks tied for second in NCAA Division III.Â

Rose-Hulman will continue their Friday Night Spikes Series next week on Friday, January 19 at 6 PM.
