TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Kolton Nanko and Andrew Shields have each been awarded USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors in men's track and field. The Fightin' Engineers would also claim the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, recording a 3.43 GPA as a team.
 
Nanko and Shields played key roles in Rose-Hulman claiming both the 2026 HCAC Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
 
Nanko recorded a first-place finish at the HCAC Indoor Championships in the pole vault with a jump of 15' 11". He has now recorded four HCAC Individual Championships in the pole vault, with six top two finishes.
 
Shields recorded a total of three first-place finishes at the HCAC Championships, including victories in both the indoor and outdoor 400m. He won the indoor 400m with a time of 49.51 and the outdoor 400m with a time of 48.25. He would add another first-place finish in the indoor 4x-400m relay with a time of 3:26.24. For his efforts, Shields was named the HCAC Indoor Sprints Athlete of the Year.
 
Nanko and Shields received All-Academic Athlete honors as they have achieved a cumulative GPA above 3.30 while ranking amongst the top 50 individuals in the country in their respective events.
 
Rose-Hulman earned the All-Academic Team award as the squad obtained a minimum GPA of 3.1 or above.
