CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team dropped their opening match of the spring season 6-3 to Illinois Tech with five matches being decided in a tiebreak.

The Fightin' Engineers dropped all three doubles matches to open the match with all three matches decided in a tiebreak at 8-7.

Despite being down 3-0 heading into singles, the team fought back valiently and had a chance to win the match late.

Ervin Perkowski picked up the first win 6-2, 6-1 at #5 singles, and Rhian Seneviratne added a second one 7-5, 6-2 at #4 singles.

Grant Paradowski was able to pull out a late comeback win 3-6, 7-6(7-5), 11-9 at #3 singles to close out the match.

Rose-Hulman falls to 2-1 on the season with the loss, and they will return to action on Saturday, February 17 at 1 PM as they host the Wittenberg Tigers.
