TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team hits the road for a two-game road trip as they take on the Defiance Yellow Jackets on Saturday, January 6 at 1 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes in at 5-7Â on the season and 2-3 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers 82-80 loss to Franklin snapped a two game-winning streak against Elmhurst and Spalding.
* Rose-Hulman beat Anderson 83-72 and Bluffton 62-55 in their first two HCAC games of the season. It was their first 2-0 start in the HCAC since 2017.

Jamie Baum, a second-team all-HCAC selection in 2022, is averaging 12.9 points per game this season.
* Baum is currently ranked #1 in NCAA Division III in free throw percentage this season at 94.0%.

Grace Roland has scored in double figures in ten of twelve games this season, and she leads the team with 13.4 points per game.
* Roland became the third player in school history to score 32 points in a game in the win over Elmhurst, and she earned her first career HCAC Athlete of the Week honors for her performance.

Manuella Shomba has dominated inside for the Fightin' Engineers this season. She has scored 16 points or more in five of the last eight games including a 19-point performance in Wednesday's loss to Franklin.

Sophia Reese has had a great freshman season with 8.4 points and 3.4 assists per game, including 14 points and 6 assists on Wednesday.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the court next Wednesday, January 10 as they travel to Earlham to take on the Quakers.
DEFIANCE NOTES:
* Defiance comes in at 0-12 on the season and 0-5 in the HCAC.
* This is the first game of a five-game home stand for Defiance.
* The Yellow Jackets fell to Manchester 57-41 on Wednesday night.
* Defiance is averaging just 38.1 points per game in their last 7 games, and they have only scored over 50 points once in that stretch.
* The Yellow Jackets come into the game shooting 28.9% from the floor and 22.1% from three on the season.
* Zadria King leads the team on the year with 13.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.
