TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers football team is set to host Defiance on Saturday, October 19 for Hall of Fame Weekend. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the weekend with a record of 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a loss to Hanover College with a final score of 37-16.
* Rick Easterwood has led the offense under center ranking second in the conference with a 63.7% completion percentage.
* Easterwood has totaled 990 yards through the air and seven touchdown passes so far this season.
* Jay Smith is the Fightin' Engineers leading rusher leading the conference with 510 yards rushing, 4.4 yards per carry, and 102 yards per game. 
* Daniel Huery leads the receiving core with 42 catches for 313 yards and three touchdowns averaging 62.6 yards receiving per game.
* The Fightin' Engineers are led defensively by Wyatt Bell totaling 35.0 tackles and one interception.
* Augustus Shryock is another defensive standout leading the team with four tackles for loss and two sacks.
* Andrew Toler has been productive all season on special teams leading the conference and all of NCAA Division III averaging 48.1 yards per punt. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish third in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 25 points.
* The team finished last season with a record of 7-3 overall and 6-1 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished second in the HCAC after falling to Mount St. Joseph in the final game of the season.
* The squad returns eight All-Conference student-athletes from last year's team including Wyatt Bell, Cameron Dorsey, Adam Field, Daniel Huery, Ben Klein, Dylan Page, Kyle Rehberg, and Andrew Toler.
* All of the returning All-Conference players with additions of Rick Easterwood, Augustus Shryock, and Jay Smith have been named as Players to Watch by the HCAC this season.
* Senior Punter Andrew Toler has been named a 1st Team Preseason All-American by D3football.com.
* Toler earned a pair of All-American honors last season ranking third in all of Division III with an average of 44.4 yards per punt last season. 
* Jeff Sokol is serving in his 14th year at Rose-Hulman with a career record of 84-43. Sokol has led Rose-Hulman to three HCAC titles and two NCAA Playoff appearances in 2016 and 2021.
* After hosting the Yellow Jackets, Rose-Hulman will return to HCAC play traveling to face Bluffton on Saturday, October 26 at 12 PM.

DEFIANCE NOTES:
* Defiance enters the weekend match up with Rose-Hulman with a record of 2-4 overall.
* The team comes off a loss to Saint Xavier (IL) with a final score of 45-14.
* Jehlani Warren leads the team under center with 913 passing yards this season and seven touchdowns with a completion percentage of 53.1 %.
* Warren is also the team's leading rusher with 391 yards and three rushing touchdowns.
* Cameron Turner is the other leading rusher for the Yellow Jackets with 192 yards and two touchdowns. 
* Jalen Warren leads the receiving core with 22 catches for 315 yards and two receiving touchdowns this season. 
* Coty Johnson II is the defensive standout totaling 55 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Defiance will host Madonna on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 13-5 overall against the Yellow Jackets.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won the last 12 games against Defiance dating back to the 2012 season. 
* Rose-Hulman earned the victory last year with a final score of 78-54.
* The team has a record of 6-3 when hosting Defiance.
