Men's Soccer Hosts Earlham in HCAC Action Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will continue HCAC play hosting Earlham College on Saturday, October 19 at 3:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the match leading the HCAC with a record of 6-4-3 overall and 4-0-1 in the conference.
* The team has won their last two matches against conference opponents defeating Berea 3-0 and Franklin 2-0.
* John Biederstedt earned the HCAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Hanover and Berea. 
* Biederstedt leads the conference in goals-against average (1.00), save percentage (82%), and shutouts (4) so far this season.
Cameron Hannah has been the star for the Fightin' Engineers totaling 12 points on five goals and two assists. 
* Hannah leads the conference with three game-winning goals. 
Julius Salinas leads the team in assists with four so far this season ranking third in the conference.
* Head Coach Sean Helliwell earned his 200th career victory at the helm of the Fightin' Engineers men's soccer program in the match against Bluffton earlier this year. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the league's preseason poll receiving 79 points and 7 first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season with a record of 12-5-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the HCAC to claim the #3 seed in the postseason tournament. 
* The team went on to win the HCAC Tournament taking out the top two teams in the league to advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament. 
* Rose-Hulman suffered a close loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 2-0.
* The squad returns four all-conference players from last year's team including Peter BorgerJohn BiederstedtElijah Hardersen, and Chase Kedzior
* Along with the returning all-conference players, Julius SalinasJacob Pohl, and Tyler Eldridge have been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After hosting Earlham, the Fightin' Engineers will travel to take on Anderson on Wednesday, October 23 at 3:30 PM.

EARLHAM NOTES: 
* Earlham enters the weekend with a record of 4-8-1 overall and 3-2 in the HCAC.
* The team comes off a loss to Transylvania on Wednesday with a final score of 1-0.
* Rhoi Phulusa leads the team this season with five goals and 11 points. 
* Markku Laukkanen also has 11 points this year with four goals and three assists. 
* Ryland Wamsley has been the keeper for the Quakers all season with 46 saves, a 2.54 goals-against average, and a 58.2% save percentage.
* Earlham was selected to finish sixth in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 32 points.
* After traveling to face Rose-Human, Earlham will return home to play Berea on Wednesday, October 23 at 3:30 PM.

* Rose-Hulman and Earlham are tied in their all-time series history with a record of 22-22-1 between both programs.
* Rose-Hulman has won the last 10 matches against Earlham dating back to the 2015 season.
* The Fightin' Engineers defeated the Quakers last season with a final score of 6-0.
