TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers suffered a loss to Mount St. Joseph University in an exciting five-set match on Saturday. This drops the team to 8-14 overall and 1-2 in the HCAC this season.
Amaya Harrell led the team in kills with 11 followed by
Jillian Gregg and
Desiree Beverley with nine kills each.
Lily Ebright was the standout on defense with 38 digs in the match.Â
The Fightin' Engineers found themselves in a battle against one of the top teams in the HCAC. After falling in the first set 25-21, the Engineers bounced back to win the second and third set 25-23 and 25-22.
The Lions put together a strong fourth set ending on a 10-5 run winning 25-17 to force the fifth set tiebreaker.Â
Mount St. Joseph would run away with the win defeating Rose-Hulman in the fifth set 15-8.
Rose-Hulman will look to bounce back traveling to take on Hanover College on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 PM.Â
