Volleyball Travels to Hanover for HCAC Showdown on Wednesday Night

GAME NOTES

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team will continue conference play traveling to take on Hanover College on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the midweek match against Hanover ranking tied for fifth in the HCAC with a record of 8-14 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
* The Fightin' Engineers come off a loss to Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday after an exciting five-set match with a score of 3-2. 
Lily Ebright set the school record for digs in a single match earlier this season in the match against Berea with 58 digs.
* This is the fourth most digs in a single match since the NCAA began tracking individual match records. 
* Ebright leads all of NCAA Division III with 619 total digs and 7.28 digs per set. 
Hannah Bergfeld became the sixth person in school history to record a triple-double in a match earlier this season. 
* Bergfeld has now totaled three triple-doubles on the year in the matches against Olivet, Trine, and Berea.
* She currently leads the HCAC and ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III with three triple-doubles this season.
Desiree Beverley has been the impact maker offensively leading the team with 209 kills averaging 2.46 kills per set.
Jillian Gregg has also been a playmaker on offense with 190 kills averaging 2.24 kills per set. 
Amaya Harrell has been a staple on the defense leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference with 58 blocks this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been selected to finish fifth in this year's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll receiving 46 points. 
* Rose-Hulman finished in sixth place in the conference last season with a 15-14 record overall and a 4-5 conference record. 
* The squad returns two all-conference players from last year including Lily Ebright and Jillian Gregg.
* Ebright has been named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year in the last two seasons. 
* After traveling to take on Hanover, Rose-Hulman will return home to take on Earlham College on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM. 

HANOVER NOTES:
* Hanover currently ranks tied for fifth place in the conference with a record of 17-5 overall and 1-2 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday with a final score of 3-2. 
* Elliot Mays leads the team offensively with 228 kills and 2.65 kills per set. 
* Abbey McCoy has also been productive for the Panthers with 195 kills averaging 2.27 kills per set. 
* Madison Schicker leads the defense with 389 digs averaging 4.52 digs per set. 
* Molly Schwarzkopf is another defensive standout for Hanover totaling 91 blocks averaging 1.06 blocks per set. 
* Hanover has been selected to finish third in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 62 points. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the Panthers will host Franklin College on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM. 

HANOVER SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series between both teams with a record of 14-22 overall against the Panthers. 
* The Fightin' Engineers claimed a win in last year's opening round of the HCAC Tournament against Hanover with a final score of 3-1. 
* The Panthers claimed a win during the regular season last year with a final score of 3-0.
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time record of 7-10 when traveling to face Hanover College.
