Men's Soccer Hosts MSJ for Senior Day on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will look to remain undefeated in conference play hosting Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, October 26 for Senior Day at 3:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the match leading the HCAC with a record of 8-4-3 overall and 6-0-1 in the conference.
* The team has won their last four matches against conference opponents defeating Anderson 2-1, Earlham 2-0, Franklin 2-0, and Berea 3-0.
John Biederstedt earned his second consecutive HCAC Athlete of the Week this week for his performance against Franklin and Earlham. 
* Biederstedt leads the conference with a 0.923 goals-against average, five clean sheets, and an 81.3% save percentage. 
* Ryan Shapiro leads the team with 13 points this season on five goals and three assists. 
Cameron Hannah has also been a standout for the Fightin' Engineers totaling 12 points on five goals and two assists. 
* Hannah leads the conference with three game-winning goals this year. 
Julius Salinas leads the team in assists with four so far this season ranking third in the conference.
* Head Coach Sean Helliwell earned his 200th career victory at the helm of the Fightin' Engineers men's soccer program in the match against Bluffton earlier this year. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the league's preseason poll receiving 79 points and 7 first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season with a record of 12-5-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the HCAC to claim the #3 seed in the postseason tournament. 
* The team went on to win the HCAC Tournament taking out the top two teams in the league to advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament. 
* Rose-Hulman suffered a close loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 2-0.
* The squad returns four all-conference players from last year's team including Peter BorgerJohn BiederstedtElijah Hardersen, and Chase Kedzior
* Along with the returning all-conference players, Julius SalinasJacob Pohl, and Tyler Eldridge have been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After facing MSJ, Rose-Hulman will wrap up their regular season by hosting Manchester on Tuesday, October 29 at 7 PM.  

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES: 
* Mount St. Joseph enters the weekend with a record of 4-10-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the HCAC.
* The Lions come off a loss to Bluffton with a final score of 5-1. 
* Willis Johnson and Mohit Naphray lead the team with 10 points and five goals each. 
* Michael Smith leads the team with two assists this season. 
* Aaron Smith has been the starting goalkeeper for MSJ with 62 saves, a goals-against average of 3.05, and a save percentage of 60.8%.
* The Lions were picked to finish 10th in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 22 points. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the Lions will wrap up their regular season by hosting Transylvania on Tuesday, October 29 at 7 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series against Mount St. Joseph with a record of 19-1 overall against the Lions. 
* Rose-Hulman has won the last 19 matches dating back to the 2007 season. 
* The only time Mount St. Joseph has defeated the Fightin' Engineers was during the 2006 season with a final score of 1-0.
* Rose-Hulman defeated MSJ last season with a final score of 6-0.
* The Fightin' Engineers have an undefeated record of 10-0 when hosting the Lions.
