Volleyball Hosts Cancer Research Game Against Earlham Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team is set to host their Cancer Research Game against Earlham on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the weekend in a tie for seventh place in the HCAC with a record of 8-15 overall and 1-3 in the conference. 
* The Fightin' Engineers come off a tough road loss to Hanover with a final score of 3-0. 
Lily Ebright set the school record for digs in a single match earlier this season in the match against Berea with 58 digs.
* This is the fourth most digs in a single match since the NCAA began tracking individual match records. 
* Ebright leads all of NCAA Division III with 635 total digs and 7.22 digs per set. 
Hannah Bergfeld became the sixth person in school history to record a triple-double in a match earlier this season. 
* Bergfeld has now totaled three triple-doubles on the year in the matches against Olivet, Trine, and Berea.
* She currently leads the HCAC and ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III with three triple-doubles this season.
Desiree Beverley has been the impact maker offensively leading the team with 212 kills averaging 2.41 kills per set.
Jillian Gregg has also been a playmaker on offense with 194 kills averaging 2.20 kills per set. 
Amaya Harrell has been a staple on the defense leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference with 60 blocks this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been selected to finish fifth in this year's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll receiving 46 points. 
* Rose-Hulman finished in sixth place in the conference last season with a 15-14 record overall and a 4-5 conference record. 
* The squad returns two all-conference players from last year including Lily Ebright and Jillian Gregg.
* Ebright has been named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year in the last two seasons. 
* After hosting Earlham, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Franklin College on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 PM. 

EARLHAM NOTES:
* Earlham enters the contest tied for fourth in the conference with a record of 8-12 overall and 2-2 in the HCAC. 
* The Quakers have won their past two matches against Bluffton 3-0 and Hanover 3-1. 
* The team is led by Caylee Brandes with 221 kills averaging 2.95 kills per set. 
* Brandes is also the teams block leader with 41 blocks on the season. 
* Skyler Murray has also been a offensive threat for the Quakers with 156 kills averaging 2.26 kills per set. 
* Madison Bizjak leads the defense with 344 digs averaging 4.59 digs per set. 
* The Earlham Quakers have been selected to finish sixth in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 40 points. 
* After facing the Fightin' Engineers, Earlham will travel to take on Transylvania on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 PM. 

EARLHAM SERIES HISTORY:
* The Fightin' Engineers lead the all-time series between both teams with a record of 21-11 overall against the Quakers. 
* Rose-Hulman fell short in last year's match with a final score of 3-0. 
* Rose-Hulman earned a win against Earlham in the 2022 season with a score of 3-1. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have a record of 11-4 when hosting Earlham.
