Volleyball Travels to Franklin for HCAC Battle Wednesday

GAME NOTES

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team will continue conference play traveling to Franklin College on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the midweek contest with a record of 8-16 overall and 1-4 in the HCAC. 
* The Fightin' Engineers come off a tough road loss to Earlham after five sets with a final of 3-2.
Lily Ebright set the school record for digs in a single match earlier this season in the match against Berea with 58 digs.
* This is the fourth most digs in a single match since the NCAA began tracking individual match records. 
* Ebright leads all of NCAA Division III with 667 total digs and 7.17 digs per set. 
Hannah Bergfeld became the sixth person in school history to record a triple-double in a match earlier this season. 
* Bergfeld has now totaled three triple-doubles on the year in the matches against Olivet, Trine, and Berea.
* She currently leads the HCAC and ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III with three triple-doubles this season.
Desiree Beverley has been the impact maker offensively leading the team with 216 kills averaging 2.32 kills per set.
Jillian Gregg has also been a playmaker on offense with 206 kills averaging 2.22 kills per set. 
Amaya Harrell has been a staple on the defense leading the team and ranking seventh in the conference with 62 blocks this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been selected to finish fifth in this year's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll receiving 46 points. 
* Rose-Hulman finished in sixth place in the conference last season with a 15-14 record overall and a 4-5 conference record. 
* The squad returns two all-conference players from last year including Lily Ebright and Jillian Gregg.
* Ebright has been named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year in the last two seasons. 
* After facing Franklin, Rose-Hulman will return to action traveling to take on Bluffton on Saturday, November 2 at 12 PM.

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin enters the midweek contest with a record of 9-16 overall and 0-5 in the HCAC this season.
* The team comes off a loss to Hanover College in a tight five-set match with a final of 3-2.
* Kaitlyn Lavy leads the team with 270 kills averaging 2.87 kills per set.
* Brionna Linkel is the team's assist leader with 612 assists this season. 
* Linkel is also the defensive standout for the Grizzlies with a team-high 190 digs averaging 2.02 digs per set. 
* Trinity Schroeder has been a force at the net leading the team with 67 blocks. 
* Franklin was picked to finish seventh in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 31 points. 
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, Franklin will travel to take on Earlham on Saturday, November 2 at 1 PM. 

FRANKLIN SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 16-14 overall against the Grizzlies. 
* The Fightin' Engineers won last year's match against Franklin in straight sets with a final of 3-0.
* Franklin last defeated Rose-Hulman in the 2022 season with a final of 3-0. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have a record of 5-8 when traveling to face Franklin.
