TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers football team will host Franklin College in their HCAC opener for Homecoming on Saturday, October 5 at 2 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter their conference opener still seeking their first win of the season.
* The team stands at 0-3 so far this year after a tough loss to Hope with a final score of 49-7.

Rick Easterwood has led the offense under center leading the conference with a 65.2%completion percentage and 20 completions per game.
* Easterwood has totaled 624 yards through the air and five touchdown passes so far this season.
*
Jay Smith is the Fightin' Engineers leading rusher leading the conference with 96.67 yards per game.
* Smith leads the team with 290 yards total with three rushing touchdowns on the year.

Kolton Nanko leads the receiving core with 272 receiving yards and one touchdown averaging 90.67 yards per game.

Daniel Huery leads the team in receptions with 25 and receiving touchdowns with two this season.
* The Fightin' Engineers are led defensively by
Austin Hastings and
Wyatt Bell each totaling 22.0 tackles.

Andrew Toler is the standout on special teams leading the conference and ranking second in the nation averaging 48.18 yards per punt.

* The team finished last season with a record of 7-3 overall and 6-1 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished second in the HCAC after falling to Mount St. Joseph in the final game of the season.

* Senior Punter
Andrew Toler has been named a 1st Team Preseason All-American by D3football.com.
* Toler earned a pair of All-American honors last season ranking third in all of Division III with an average of 44.4 yards per punt last season.
* He also enters his final season ranked second in school history in career yards per punt at 39.71.

Jeff Sokol is serving in his 14th year at Rose-Hulman with a career record of 84-43. Sokol has led Rose-Hulman to three HCAC titles and two NCAA Playoff appearances in 2016 and 2021.
* After hosting Franklin, Rose-Hulman will hit the road to continue conference play facing the Hanover Panthers on Saturday, October 12 at 2 PM.
FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin College stands at 1-3 overall this season picking up a win over Ohio Wesleyan last week with a final score of 27-14.
* Kai Ross leads the team at quarterback with 380 passing yards and three passing touchdowns this season.
* Garrett Cora is the team's leading rusher with 366 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the ground averaging 91.5 yards per game.
* Owen Wright leads the receivers with 253 receiving yards this season and three touchdowns.
* DeMarion Newell is the defensive standout for the Grizzlies with 27.0 total tackles this year.
* Franklin has been selected to finish fourth in the HCAC Preseason Poll receiving 20 points.
* The team finished last season in fourth place with a record of 4-6 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Franklin will continue conference play traveling to take on Manchester on Saturday, October 19 at 1:30 PM.
