Men's Soccer Travels to Hanover for Midweek HCAC Action Wednesday

GAME NOTES

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will continue HCAC play traveling to face Hanover College on Wednesday, October 9 at 3:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the match ranked second in the HCAC standings with a record of 4-4-2 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a big conference win over Transylvania with a score of 3-2 on Saturday. 
Cameron Hannah earned his second consecutive HCAC Athlete of the Week after scoring two goals and recording an assist in the win over the Pioneers. 
* Hannah was the HCAC Athlete of the Week last week for his performance against Bluffton leading the team to a comeback win scoring two goals in the final two minutes.
* Hannah leads the team with four goals this season and 10 points. 
* Evan Lipsky and Julius Salinas lead the team with three assists each on the year. 
John Biederstedt has been in goal for the Fightin' Engineers totaling 43 saves with a 1.38 goals-against average and 79.6% save percentage.
Michael Trinh has also seen time in goal for Rose-Hulman with 5 saves, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a 71.4% save percentage.
* Head Coach Sean Helliwell earned his 200th career victory at the helm of the Fightin' Engineers men's soccer program in the match against Bluffton earlier this year. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the league's preseason poll receiving 79 points and 7 first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season with a record of 12-5-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the HCAC to claim the #3 seed in the postseason tournament. 
* The team went on to win the HCAC Tournament taking out the top two teams in the league to advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament. 
* Rose-Hulman suffered a close loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 2-0.
* The squad returns four all-conference players from last year's team including Peter BorgerJohn BiederstedtElijah Hardersen, and Chase Kedzior
* Along with the returning all-conference players, Julius SalinasJacob Pohl, and Tyler Eldridge have been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After facing Hanover, Rose-Hulman will continue conference play on the road against Berea on Saturday, October 12 at 3:30 PM. 

HANOVER NOTES: 
* Hanover enters the match with a record of 3-5-2 overall and 1-1 in HCAC play.
* The Panthers come off a victory over the Bluffton Beavers with a final score of 2-0. 
* Andrew Pavlisko leads the team with four goals scored this season. 
* Patricio Campos is also a statistical leader for the Panthers with four assists and 10 points while totaling three goals for Hanover.
* Ben Howard has represented the Panthers in goal this season with 19 saves, a goals-against average of 1.56, and a save percentage of 57.6%.
* The Panthers have been picked to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Polls behind Rose-Hulman receiving 67 points and two first-place votes.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, the Panthers will travel to take on Manchester in HCAC action on Saturday, October 12 at 3:30 PM.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 21-9-10 against the Panthers.
* The Fightin' Engineers earned the win on penalty kicks last year in the HCAC Semifinals after being tied at the end of regulation.
* Rose-Hulman lost to the Panthers during the regular season last year with a final score of 1-0.
* During the 2022 season the teams met in the HCAC Championship with Rose-Hulman narrowly defeating the Panthers on penalty kicks.
