BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 sweep of Bluffton on Saturday afternoon.
The two teams battle in the first set before Rose-Hulman went on a 4-0 run at 17-17 to win the first set 25-19. The second set was another battle with the Beavers taking a 15-10 lead early in the set, but the Fightin' Engineers responded with a 7-1 run to retake the lead. They would hold on for the 25-22 win in the second set.
The final set of the match was all Rose-Hulman with the Fightin' Engineers winning it 25-14 as they broke open the set with a 7-1 run in the middle.
Desiree Beverley led the team with 10 kills and a .348 hitting percentage.
Amaya Harrell also added 9 kills and a .318 hitting percentage in the win.
Lily Ebright led the team with 19 digs and 2 service aces, and Beverley finished off her double double with 14 digs.
Julia Irmen added 29 assists in the match.
With the win, Rose-Hulman improves to 10-16 overall and 3-4 in the HCAC. The team returns to action on Wednesday, November 6 as they travel to Anderson to battle the Ravens at 7 PM.
