Women's Basketball Hosts Crosstown Classic Against SMWC Friday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Fightin' Engineers women's basketball team will open their season hosting St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Friday night for the Crosstown Classic at 8 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman opens the season against the Pomeroys for the annual Crosstown Classic Friday.
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish sixth in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 46 points. 
* The team finished last season with a record of 12-14 overall and 9-9 in the HCAC. 
* Rose-Hulman advanced to the HCAC Tournament and fell to Franklin in the first round with a final score of 73-69. 
* Jamie Baum earned 1st-Team all-HCAC honors and Grace Roland was named the HCAC Newcomer of the Year last season.
* Both Baum and Roland along with CK Gallegos Rodriguez, Anaya Hawkins, and Sophia Reese have been named Players to Watch by the HCAC for the upcoming season.
* Baum was the team's leading scorer last season averaging 13.6 points per game. 
* Roland is the team's leading returner for rebounding ranking second on the team last year with 7.3 rebounds per game. 
* The team adds seven new faces to the team this year including Reagan Lorenzen, Julia Meyer, Emma Schipp, Madi D'Elia, Sierra Snowden, Katelyn Fennell, and Anaya Hawkins.
* After hosting the Pomeroys, Rose-Hulman will travel to face Millikin on Monday, November 11 at 7 PM CT. 

ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS NOTES:
* SMWC enters Friday's match up with a record of 2-0 so far this season. 
* The team earned wins against Judson 82-55 and St. Francis (Ill.) 85-77. 
* Madison Fueger leads the team with 16.0 points per game this year.
* Diamond Bryant is the team leader in rebounds averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. 
* The team finished last season with a record of 18-11 overall and 13-5 in the RSC. 
* After taking on the Fightin' Engineers, St. Mary-of-the-Woods will host Spring Arbor University on Saturday, November 16 at 2 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails the all-time series between both teams with a record of 13-15 against SMWC.
* The Pomeroys defeated Rose-Hulman last season with a final score of 68-56.
* Before that, Rose-Hulman had won the last eight meetings between the teams dating back to the 2012-13 season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have a home record of 10-8 when hosting the Pomeroys.
