Women's Soccer Faces MSJ in HCAC Championship Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team will travel to face Mount St. Joseph University in the HCAC Championship on Saturday, November 9 at 7 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers earned the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a record of 7-1-1 in the conference.
* The team now stands at 9-7-1 overall after defeating Transylvania in the semifinal round to advance to the championship with a final score of 1-0
* Lauren Marquardt was the hero for Rose-Hulman scoring the game-winning goal to defeat the Pioneers. 
* The win clinches the team's eighth consecutive winning season under head coach Amy Helliwell.
* This will be the fourth time in the last six seasons that the Fightin' Engineers have advanced to the HCAC Championship match.
Kyra Hicks is the team's leader in points with 18 on eight goals and two assists so far this season.
* Sydnee Schuler has also been a key weapon for Rose-Hulman with 13 points on six goals and one assist.
* Lauren Marquardt, Emma Johns, Katie Choi, and Camille Clark have all totaled two goals this season. 
Lily Doré has been the keeper for the Fightin' Engineers all season long totaling 43 saves with a goals-against average of 1.26 and a save percentage of 68.3%.
* With a win over the Lions, Rose-Hulman will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. 

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph University earned the #1 seed in the HCAC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a record of 8-0-1 in the HCAC. 
* The Lions now stand at 11-3-4 overall this season after defeating Hanover in the HCAC semifinal on Wednesday with a score of 1-0.
* Mckenzie Schneeman leads the team with 21 points on seven goals and seven assists.
* Ella Pittman is the team's goal leader with nine on the season adding two assists to total 20 points this year. 
* Kerigan Pollard also has double figures in points with 15 on six goals and three assists. 
* Jordan Schneider represents the team in goal with 54 saves, a goals-against average of 0.72, and a save percentage of 84.4%. 
* With a win over the Fightin' Engineers, Mount St. Joseph will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series against MSJ with a record of 8-12-2 against the Lions.
* MSJ earned the win earlier this year during the regular season with a final score of 1-0. 
* The Lions have won the past two matches also defeating Rose-Hulman during the 2023 season with a final score of 2-1. 
* The last time Rose-Hulman defeated MSJ was during the 2020 season with a score of 1-0.
* The Fightin' Engineers have an away record of 2-8-1 when traveling to face Mount St. Joseph.
