TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will return to action on the road this weekend competing in the Glenn Van Wieren Classic facing Hope College on Friday, December 20 at 7 PM and Olivet on Saturday, December 21 at 1 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the weekend with a record of 6-3 overall and an undefeated record of 4-0 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers are tied with Transylvania at the top of the HCAC standings after taking down Manchester, Bluffton, Anderson, and Earlham to open conference play.
* The team comes off a win over Earlham College to claim the John Mutchner Cup for the 12th consecutive year on Wednesday with a final score of 80-62.

Miles McGowen leads the team, averaging close to a double-double with 13.1 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game. He also ranks second on the team with 21 assists.

Joey Schmitz was named the HCAC Player of the Week last week after recording 22 points, 7 assists, 6 steals, and 5 rebounds in the win over Anderson. He is the first Rose-Hulman freshman to be named the conference Player of the Week since
Craig McGee in the 2017-18 season.
* Schmitz averages double figures in scoring with 12.3 points per game and leads the team with 21 steals on the year.

Kobe Stoudemire also averages double figures with 11.2 points per game and totals a team-high 24 assists.
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked to finish fourth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 53 poll points.

Miles McGowen earned 2nd-team all-HCAC honors last season after leading the team with 15.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
* After competing in the Glenn Van Wieren Classic, Rose Hulman will return to conference play traveling to Berea on Saturday, January 4 at 3 PM.
HOPE NOTES:
* Hope enters the weekend with a record of 4-5 overall this season.
* The team comes off a win over Ohio Wesleyan last Saturday with a final score of 79-69.
* Gabe Quillan leads the team averaging 16.9 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game.
* Quillan has also totaled a team-high 12 blocks this season.
* Justice Mims also averages double figures with 11.2 points per game and leads the team with eight steals on the year.
* Hope will face DePauw in the second game of the Glenn Van Wieren Classic on Saturday, December 21 at 3 PM.
* After competing in the Glenn Van Wieren Classic, the team will host Olivet on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:30 PM to open MIAA play.
HOPE SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman fell short in the team's only match up with Hope in program history during the 1984-85 season with a final score of 70-67.
OLIVET NOTES:
* Olivet stands at 1-6 overall this season entering the weekend.
* The team has lost their last six games after winning their season opener against Simpson with a final score of 71-55.
* Nathan Richardson and Conner Schipper both lead the team with 12.3 points per game this season.
* Richardson also leads the team with 23 assists and 12 steals.
* Peter Kretschman is the team's leading rebounder averaging 8.6 rebounds per game.
* The Comets open the Glenn Van Wieren Classic facing DePauw on Friday, December 20 at 5 PM.
