ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team dropped the rubber match of a three-game series with the Emory Eagles on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta.
After Emory picked up a pair of runs in the first two innings, Rose-Hulman responded with three runs of their own in the third to take a 3-2 lead.
Colter Couillard-Rodak,
Mason Rasmussen, and
Connor O'Connell recorded back-to-back-to-back RBI singles to take their first lead of the game.
The Eagles would respond with six runs in the third, and they would cruise to a 16-4 victory.
Rasmussen and O'Connell led the team with a pair of hits.
Kade Kline, Couillard-Rodak,
Jonathan Oliger each added a hit as well.
Brad Nardi pitched well in relief in his collegiate debut with 2.1 innings for 3 hits and 1 unearned run.
Tyler Orr added one shutout inning in relief as well.
The Fightin' Engineers fall to 1-2 on the season. They will return to action on Tuesday, February 27 at 5:30 PM with a night game against Dubuque in Auburndale, Florida.
