Men's Tennis Takes on Davenport on Wednesday at 10 AM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis continues their 2024 spring trip on Wednesday at 10 AM as they take on Davenport at the USTA National Tennis Center.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes in at 5-1 after a pair of wins over Trine in the fall season and a win over Wittenberg in their home opener.
* The Fightin' Engineers opened their 2024 spring trip with a pair of wins over Wartburg and Alma on Monday.
* Freshman Elijah Hadler was named the HCAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after winning his first career collegiate matches in both singles and doubles against Wittenberg on Saturday.
* Grant Paradowski leads the Fightin' Engineers in singles wins this season at 10-2. Freshman Ervin Perkowski has also picked up five wins on the year with a perfect 5-0 record.
* Chris Lian, Hadler, Owen Reynolds, Rhian Seneviratne, and Renato Prado have all added four singles wins.
* Perkowski also paces the team in doubles wins this season with six. Lian has added five, and Seneviratne and Paradowski sit at four.
* Rose-Hulman had its streak of seven consecutive HCAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances snapped last year after falling in the HCAC Semifinals. They finished the 2022-23 season at 10-10 with a 4-2 record in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the court on Thursday, February 29 as they travel to Bartow to take on the Warner Royals.

DAVENPORT NOTES:
* Davenport comes in at 8-6 overall this season.
* The Panthers have a match on Tuesday against Division I St. Bonaventure before playing Rose-Hulman on Wednesday.
* Subash Paramasivan leads Davenport in singles with a 13-3 overall record.
* Jan Stolin and Simone Pacciolla have also added winning seasons with 9-8 and 7-3 records.
* In doubles, Stolin has also been lights out at 11-2 on the year, and Paramasivan comes in at 10-3.
* After playing Rose-Hulman, the Panthers will play Florida Southern on Wednesday at 3:30 PM to close out their spring trip.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Davenport is 3-0 all-time against Rose-Hulman with all three wins coming at the USTA National Tennis Center.
* The Panthers won the first-ever meeting between the two teams in 2018 with a 7-2 victory.
* Davenport also won 8-1 in 2019 and 6-3 in 2022.
* In the 2022 meeting, Owen Reynolds and Grant Paradowski each picked up doubles wins against the Panthers, but they both fell in singles.
* Rhian Seneviratne, Lawson McCloskey, and Corey Pollard all played in the match as well, but they could not bring home a win.
