TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team came from behind for an 8-7 victory over DePauw in Wednesday night's home opener with a walkoff from Jackson Summers in the bottom of the ninth inning.

DePauw jumped on the board in the third with two runs, and they added three more in the sixth to take a 5-run lead on a three-run, two-out triple from Drew Staub.

However, Rose-Hulman battled back in the seventh with four runs with a RBI from Josh Erpenbeck and a two-run single from Colter Couillard-Rodak.

The Fightin' Engineers added three more in the eighth to take the lead with a two-run single from Kade Kline and an RBI single from Connor O'Connell.

After the Tigers tied it in the top of the ninth, Rose-Hulman answered by loading the bases on two hit by pitches for Couillard-Rodak and Ryland Hixon and an intentional walk to Jonathan Oliger. Then, with two strikes, Summers ripped a single off the second baseman's glove and into right field for the second walk off in as many games at Art Nehf Field dating back to 2023.

On the mound, Brady Strawmyer led the team with 5.0 innings pitched and just 1 earned run allowed. He is just the second Rose-Hulman starter to make it through the fifth inning this season.

Camden Judson came in to lock it down in the relief with 2.1 innings of no-hit baseball. He struck out five batters while allowing just one base runner in his first home appearance.

Kline recorded his fourth multi-hit and fourth multi-RBI games of the season in the win, and Summers added his first-career multi-hit game going 2-2 with 2 runs scored, one RBI, and a walk.

Rose-Hulman improves to 5-4 on the season and picks up their third consecutive victory at Art Nehf Field. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Friday evening as they host the Calvin Knights at 6 PM in their first game of a three-game series.
