Men's Tennis Hosts Transylvania; HCAC Regular Season Title on the Line

LIVE RESULTS

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team hosts the Transylvania Pioneers on Saturday, April 27 at 12 PM with the HCAC Regular Season title up for grabs. The winner of the match will earn the #1 overall seed in the HCAC Tournament and the regular season championship. With the match moving indoors, there will be no live video stream for the event.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the match with a record of 10-5 overall and 4-0 in the HCAC. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have wins in five of their last seven matches over Manchester, Hanover, Anderson, Principia, and Franklin with the lone losses coming to DePauw and Greenville.
* Grant Paradowski leads the Fightin' Engineers in singles wins this season at 14-6 overall, and freshman Ervin Perkowski has also played lights out with 12 singles wins this season.
* Perkowski also paces the team in doubles wins this season with 13, and Paradowski has added 11. Chris Lian, Owen Reynolds, and Rhian Seneviratne have also added nine doubles wins for the Fightin' Engineers.
* Rose-Hulman had its streak of seven consecutive HCAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances snapped last year after falling in the HCAC Semifinals. They finished the 2022-23 season at 10-10 with a 4-2 record in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to action on Sunday, April 28 as they travel to Earlham College to battle the Quakers at 11 AM in the regular season finale.

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* The Pioneers come in at 10-6 overall and 5-0 in the HCAC.
* Transylvania is on a six match winning streak with their last lost coming on March 3 to DePauw.
* The Pioneers have won four of their last six matches by a score of 9-0.
* This will be the final match of the season for Transylvania before the HCAC Tournament. Both Rose-Hulman and Transylvania have earned byes in the first round and will play in the HCAC Semifinals on May 4 in Lexington, Kentucky.

SERIES HISTORY:
* The all-time series is tied 15-15 between the Pioneers and the Fightin' Engineers.
* The Pioneers have won back-to-back matches with both coming last season.
* Rose-Hulman had won 12 consecutive matches prior to both of last season's losses.
* The Fightin' Engineers are 5-2 all-time on their home courts against the Pioneers with the last Transylvania win coming in 2013.
