TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team fell to Transylvania 8-1 in the HCAC Regular Season title match on Saturday afternoon at the Terre Haute Tennis and Pickleball Center.
Following the match, the Fightin' Engineers honored their five seniors,
Wynne Aldrich,
Ella Dorfmueller,
Taylor Goldman,
Kiana Martin, and
Hayden Mattick with their Senior Day festivities.
The Fightin' Engineers came up short in all three doubles matches to start it off despite a very tough match at #2 doubles with Dorfmueller and
Brooke Carpenter falling 8-6.
In singles, senior
Wynne Aldrich picked up the lone Rose-Hulman point with a 7-5, 7-6 victory at #2 singles.
With the loss, Rose-Hulman finishes with the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament. They will travel to Lexington, Kentucky to play the winner of Anderson and Earlham in the HCAC Semifinals on Saturday, May 4 at Top Seed Tennis Center. With a win, they will play in the HCAC Championship match on Sunday, May 5 at Top Seed.
