Women's Tennis Travels to Principia for First Match in Two Weeks

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, April 6 for their first match in two weeks as they hit the road to Elsah, Illinois to take on Principia.

ROSE-HULMAN WOMEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers come into the match at 2-8 on the season with a very hard schedule. The team has played four of their ten matches against Division I or Division II opponents.
* Rose-Hulman has picked up two wins in their last three matches after taking down Manchester (9-0) and Hanover (7-2).
* Taylor Goldman and Wynne Aldrich leads the Fightin' Engineers with nine singles wins this season. Aldrich brought home the lone match win against the DePauw Tigers last Tuesday in a three-set thriller at #2 singles.
* Camille Clark and Brooke Carpenter also come in with multiple singles wins on the season.
* In doubles, Goldman and Aldrich lead with eight wins, and Ella Dorfmueller has added three wins.
* Carpenter, Kiana Martin, and Cathrine Millwood all picked up their first wins of the season in last Saturday's win over Manchester.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish 2nd in the HCAC this spring after their 3rd place finish in 2022-23.
* The Fightin' Engineers will return to the road on Wednesday, April 10 as they travel to Richmond to take on the Earlham Quakers in an HCAC contest.

PRINCIPIA NOTES:
* Principia comes in at 4-6 overall on the season and 1-0 in the UMAC.
* The Panthers will face Webster on Thursday, April 4 before hosting Rose-Hulman on Saturday.
* Principia dropped a pair of 5-4 matches to both Anderson and DePauw earlier this season. Rose-Hulman beat Anderson 6-3 and fell to DePauw 9-0.
* The Panthers' #2, 3, 5, and 6 singles players are all tied for the team lead with five wins in 2023-24.
* Gaby Quintero and Mafe Quintero have split time at #1 and #2 doubles, and they have the best doubles record on the team at 4-4.
* After playing Rose-Hulman, the Panthers will return to action on Tuesday, April 9 at 5 PM as they travel to Illinois College.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 3-2 over Principia.
* The Panthers won last season's match 9-0 in Elsah.
* Rose-Hulman's last win against the Panthers came back in 2018 with a 9-0 victory.
