KOKOMO, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology baseball team fell to Anderson 15-4 in the HCAC Tournament to close the door on their 2024 season.
Kade Kline opened the game with a leadoff home run for the Fightin' Engineers, his seventh of the season.
After two runs for the Ravens,
Dalton Busboom answered to tie the game with a double down the left field line to make it 2-2.
The Fightin' Engineers once again tied the game in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by
Jonathan Oliger, but Anderson answered with six runs in the fifth and six more in the sixth to win the game 15-4.
Five Rose-Hulman players recorded two hits in the loss, and Kline led the way with two runs scored.
On the mound,
Alec Lewandowski was handed the loss, going 4.2 innings with 6 earned runs allowed. The Rose-Hulman bullpen struggled with the next three pitchers combining to go just 1.0 innings and giving up eight runs.
Evan Chung,
Warren Goik, and
Brett Borcherding combined to go 2.1 innings of shutout baseball to close out the loss.
With the loss, Rose-Hulman falls in the Losers Bracket Semifinals for the second consecutive season. They finish the season with a 25-19 record overall.
