TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team will face Transylvania University in the HCAC Championship on Sunday, May 5 at 1 PM with a chance to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman finished the regular season with a record of 12-5 overall and 6-0 in the HCAC to earn the #1 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* The Fightin' Engineers defeated Franklin College in the HCAC semifinal match to advance to the championship with a final score of 5-2. 
* Grant Paradowski leads the Fightin' Engineers in singles wins this season at 16-6 overall, and freshman Ervin Perkowski has also played lights out with 15 singles wins this season.
* Perkowski also paces the team in doubles wins this season with 16, and Paradowski has added 13. Elijah Hadler, Chris Lian, Owen Reynolds, and Rhian Seneviratne have also added 10 doubles wins for the Fightin' Engineers.
* Rose-Hulman had its streak of seven consecutive HCAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances snapped last year after falling in the HCAC Semifinals. They finished the 2022-23 season at 10-10 with a 4-2 record in the HCAC.
* With a win over the Pioneers, Rose-Hulman will advance to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in the last nine years since 2015. 

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* The Pioneers finished the regular season with a record of 10-7 overall and 5-1 in the HCAC to earn the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* The team defeated Anderson in the HCAC semifinal with a final score of 5-0 to advance to the championship match. 
* Transylvania has won seven of their last eight matches heading into the championship match with their only loss coming from Rose-Hulman during the regular season. 
* A win over the Fightin' Engineers will secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for Transylvania. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 16-15 against the Pioneers. 
* The Fightin' Engineers defeated Transylvania in the last match of the regular season with a final score of 6-3. 
* Transylvania defeated Rose-Hulman in the semifinal round of last year's HCAC tournament with a final score of 5-0.
