TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team will take on Transylvania University in the HCAC Championship match on Sunday, May 5 at 10 AM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers finished the regular season with a record of 4-13 overall and 4-2 in the HCAC to earn the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament. 
* The team advanced to the championship match after defeating Anderson University in the HCAC semifinal with a score of 5-2. 
* Rose-Hulman had a perfect 4-0 record in conference play before dropping their last two matches of the regular season against Transylvania 8-1, and Earlham 5-4. 
* Wynne Aldrich leads the team with 16 singles wins on the season. Taylor Goldman has also added double digit singles wins with 13.
* In doubles, Goldman and Aldrich lead with 14 wins, and Ella Dorfmueller has added five wins.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish 2nd in the HCAC this spring after their 3rd place finish in 2022-23.
* The Fightin' Engineers have made it to the HCAC Championship for the first time since 2021. 
* The team has not made an appearance at the NCAA Tournament since the 2016 season. 
* With a win over Transylvania in the championship match, Rose-Hulman will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. 

TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* Transylvania finished the regular season with a record of 11-7 and a perfect 6-0 in the HCAC to earn the #1 seed in the HCAC Tournament. 
* The Pioneers defeated Hanover to advance to the championship match with a final score of 5-0. 
* The team has won their last eight matches heading into the championship contest. 
* With a win over Rose-Hulman, the Pioneers will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with a record of 14-11 against the Pioneers. 
* Transylvania earned the win against the Fightin' Engineers earlier this season with a final score of 8-1. 
* The Pioneers have won their last eight matches when facing Rose-Hulman dating back to the 2018 season.
