TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team is set to face Illinois Tech in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 10 at 12 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the match up against Illinois Tech with a record of 14-5 overall this season.
* The Fightin' Engineers won the HCAC Tournament after defeating Transylvania in the championship match with a final score of 5-4.
* This is the team's eighth conference championship in the last nine years.

Ervin Perkowski leads the team in singles competition with a record of 16-2 overall this season.

Grant Paradowski also paces the team in singles with a record of 16-7 this year.
* Perkowski also leads the team in doubles wins with 16 this season. Paradowski ranks second with 13 doubles wins.

Owen Reynolds, and
Rhian Seneviratne have also added 11 doubles wins for the Fightin' Engineers.
* With a win, the Fightin' Engineers will advance to face the #3 team in the country in Case Western Reserve on Saturday, May 11 at 10 AM.
ILLINOIS TECH NOTES:
* IIT enters the match with a record of 12-9 overall this season.
* The team became NACC Champions after defeating MSOE in the NACC Championship with a final score of 5-0.
* The Scarlet Hawks have won their last 10 matches heading into the match up with Rose-Hulman.
* With a win, IIT will advance to face the #3 team in the country in Case Western Reserve on Saturday, May 11 at 10 AM.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 2-1 against the Scarlet Hawks.
* Both team faced each other during the regular season with IIT defeating the Fightin' Engineers 6-3.
* Rose-Hulman also faced IIT in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament during the 2018-19 season defeating the Scarlet Hawks with a final score of 5-1.
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman is 2-7 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
* The Fightin' Engineers fell to Luther 5-0 at WashU in 2022.
* The last win for Rose-Hulman came back in 2019 with a 5-1 win over Illinois Tech.
* The Fightin' Engineers also beat Wheaton 5-4 in 2017.
* This is only the third time that Rose-Hulman has not been sent to WashU in the NCAA Tournament. They have played seven matches at WashU, one at Chicago, and one in Nashville.
