TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team will begin the 2024 season on the road facing Ohio Northern University on Sunday, September 1 at 3:30 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers' first scheduled contest against St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Friday was canceled due to severe weather in the area.Â
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish third in this year's HCAC preseason poll receiving 64 points and one first-place vote.Â
* The team finished fourth overall in the HCAC last season compiling a record of 8-4-5 overall and 5-2-1 in the HCAC.Â
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short in the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament against Hanover College with a final score of 2-0.Â
* The squad returns four all-conference players including
 Lily Doré, Kyra Hicks, Lauren Marquardt, and Kiana Martin.Â

Jayden Gibson have been named as players to watch for the upcoming season by the HCAC.Â
* After facing Ohio Northern, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Webster University on Wednesday, September 4 at 5:30 PM CT.
OHIO NORTHERNÂ NOTES:
* Ohio Northern hosts Rose-Hulman for their season opener in Sunday's match up.
* The Polar Bears have been selected to finish 4th in this season's OAC preseason poll.Â
* The team finished last season with a record of 10-9-1 overall and 7-2-0 in the OAC.
* Alyssa Beckett is the team's top returner after leading the Polar Bears with four goals scored last season.Â
* Haley Cannon is also a key returner for the squad after leading the team with five assists while scoring three goals last year.Â
* After facing the Fightin' Engineers, Ohio Northern will travel to face #12 Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, September 6 at 5 PM.Â
SERIES HISTORY:
* This will be the second time that both teams have met in program history.
* Ohio Northern defeated the Fightin' Engineers during the 2022 season in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament with a final score of 1-0.
* The contest was held in Dubuque, Iowa with Loras College as the host institution for the NCAA Tournament competition.Â
* This is the first time both teams will compete against each other in a regular season match.Â
