Volleyball Finishes Weekend Invite with Split Against Aurora and Beloit

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WHEATON, Ill.-- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team competed in the second day of the Marilyn Scribner Invitational hosted by Wheaton College on Saturday. The team earned a split after falling to Aurora 3-0 and defeating Beloit 3-0. This improves the team to 5-7 overall this season.

Aurora proved to be a tough match up for the Fightin' Engineers. The Spartans took control of the match early with a dominant 25-8 win in the first set. Rose-Hulman would battle back to keep it interesting, but the Spartans would prevail winning the second set 25-23 and third set 25-22. 

The Fightin' Engineers were led by Hannah Bergfeld recording four kills and 13 assists in the match. Lily Ebright led the defense for Rose-Hulman with 12 digs. 

Rose-Hulman bounced back in the second match of the day against Beloit. The Fightin' Engineers started off strong and continued to control the momentum throughout the match earning the sweep over Beloit 25-18, 25-14, 25-16. 

Amaya Harrell led the team with eight kills in the match and Julia Irmen recorded a team-high 21 assists. 

Rose-Hulman will return home to host DePauw on Wednesday, September 18 at 7 PM.
