TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 4 at 5 PM traveling to face Wabash College. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineer's earned a tie in their first game of the season against Wilmington with a final score of 1-1.
* Eli Miller was the goal scorer for Rose-Hulman tying the game in the 68th minute. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the league's preseason poll receiving 79 points and 7 first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season with a record of 12-5-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the HCAC to claim the #3 seed in the postseason tournament. 
* The team went on to win the HCAC Tournament taking out the top two teams in the league to advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament. 
* Rose-Hulman suffered a close loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 2-0.
* The squad returns four all-conference players from last year's team including Peter Borger, John Biederstedt, Elijah Hardersen, and Chase Kedzior. 
* Along with the returning all-conference players, Julius Salinas, Jacob Pohl, and Tyler Eldridge have been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After traveling to Wabash, the team will hit the road to face Principia on Saturday, September 7 at 3 PM CT. 

WABASH NOTES: 
* Wabash begins their season on Monday, September 2 traveling to face Principia College at 5:30 PM CT. 
* The team has been selected to finish fourth in the NCAC preseason poll.
* The Little Giants finished last season with a record of 6-7-4 and 2-5-1 in the NCAC.
* Jose Escalante is a key returner for Wabash after leading the team with nine goals and three assists in the 2023 campaign.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the Little Giants will host Alma College on Saturday, September 7 at 1 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series between both teams with a record of 18-23-4 against the Little Giants. 
* In the last meeting between both teams during the 2023 season, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
* Before that, Rose-Hulman had won the last three matches in 2022, 2021, and 2019 with scores of 1-0, 4-3, and 2-0.
* The last time Wabash defeated Rose-Hulman was during the 2016 season with a final score of 2-1.
* Rose-Hulman has a record of 8-12-2 when on the road against Wabash.
