TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team will travel to take on Webster University on Wednesday, September 4 at 7 PM CT. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman finished their opening weekend with a record of 2-2 overall in the Central/Grinnell Tournament.  
* The team picked up wins against Buena Vista with a score of 3-0 and Westminster with a final of 3-1. 
*The Fightin' Engineers have been selected to finish fifth in this year's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll receiving 46 points. 
* Rose-Hulman finished in sixth place in the conference last season with a 15-14 record overall and a 4-5 conference record. 
* The squad returns two all-conference players from last year including Lily Ebright and Jillian Gregg.
* Ebright has been named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year in the last two seasons. 
* The team will rely on a couple of new faces with eight freshmen and one transfer joining the team this season.
* After facing Webster, Rose-Hulman will return home for their home opening tournament facing Olivet on Friday, September 6 at 7 PM and facing Trine and Greenville on Saturday, September 7 at 11 AM and 1 PM. 

WEBSTER NOTES:
* Webster enters their contest with the Fightin' Engineers with a record of 2-1 overall this season.
* The team went 2-1 in the Illinois College Invitational picking up wins over University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 3-1 and Dominican University 3-0.
* The Gorlocks have been selected to finish third in the SLIAC preseason poll.
* Webster finished last season with a record of 16-16 overall and 13-5 in conference play.
* Alyssa Jones is the team's top returner earning Second Team All-Conference last season leading the team with 221 kills and 256.5 points. 
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, the Gorlocks will compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament facing Loras on Friday, September 6 at 6 PM and DePauw and Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, September 7 at 10 AM  and 1 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 10-4 against the Gorlocks. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have won the last six matches against Webster with the most recent being during the 2023 season with a final score of 3-0.
* The last time Webster defeated Rose-Hulman was during the 2016 season with a final score of 3-0.
* Rose-Hulman has a perfect 2-0 record when traveling to face Webster.
