Women's Soccer Hosts Grey Matters Awareness Game Against #1 WashU

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team welcomes #1 WashU to campus on Saturday, September 21 at 1 PM for the team's Grey Matters Awareness Game.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter the match against WashU with a record of 1-5 overall this season.
* The team picked up their first win of the season against Greenville on Wednesday night with a final score of 3-1. 
* Sydnee Schuler was the standout in the team's big win recording the first two goals of her college career. 
* Kyra Hicks sealed the win with her first goal of the season in the final 10 minutes. 
* Lily Doré has been the keeper for the Fightin' Engineers all season long totaling 16 saves with a goals-against average of 1.83 and a save percentage of 59.3%.
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish third in this year's HCAC preseason poll receiving 64 points and one first-place vote. 
* The team finished fourth overall in the HCAC last season compiling a record of 8-4-5 overall and 5-2-1 in the HCAC. 
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short in the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament against Hanover College with a final score of 2-0. 
* The squad returns four all-conference players including Lily Doré, Kyra Hicks, Lauren Marquardt, and Kiana Martin. 
* The four all-conference returners along with Jayden Gibson have been named as players to watch for the upcoming season by the HCAC. 
* After facing the Bears, Rose-Hulman will begin conference play traveling to take on Bluffton on Saturday, September 28 at 1 PM. 

#1 WASHU NOTES:
* WashU is the top team in all of NCAA Division III released by the United Soccer Coaches earlier this week. 
* The team enters the contest against Rose-Hulman with an undefeated record of 7-0 this season. 
* The Bears have totaled four straight matches without allowing a goal and have only allowed three goals all season.
* They rank second in all of NCAA DIII with 29 goals as a team this season.
* Olivia Clemons leads the team with eight goals scored and 17 points. 
* Sidney Conner has been the star keeper for the Bears with six saves a goals-against average of 0.54 and a save percentage of 66.7%.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, WashU will travel to face Calvin University on Monday, September 23 at 3 PM.

* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series between both teams with a record of 0-4-1 against WashU.
* WashU earned a win last season defeating the Fightin' Engineers with a final score of 3-0.
