Men's Soccer Travels to Face Bluffton in HCAC Opener

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will begin HCAC play traveling to face Bluffton on Saturday, September 28 at 3:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter their HCAC opener against Bluffton with a record of 1-4-2 overall this season.
* The team comes off a competitive loss against DI opponent USI on Wednesday with a final score of 1-0.
Tyler Eldridge and Eli Miller each lead the team with two goals this season totaling four points. 
John Biederstedt has been in goal for the Fightin' Engineers this season totaling 36 saves with a 1.29 goals-against average and 80% save percentage. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the league's preseason poll receiving 79 points and 7 first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished last season with a record of 12-5-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the HCAC to claim the #3 seed in the postseason tournament. 
* The team went on to win the HCAC Tournament taking out the top two teams in the league to advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament. 
* Rose-Hulman suffered a close loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Ohio Wesleyan with a final score of 2-0.
* The squad returns four all-conference players from last year's team including Peter BorgerJohn BiederstedtElijah Hardersen, and Chase Kedzior
* Along with the returning all-conference players, Julius SalinasJacob Pohl, and Tyler Eldridge have been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* After traveling to Bluffton, Rose-Hulman will host St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Tuesday, October 1 at 7 PM. 

BLUFFTON NOTES: 
* Bluffton enters their HCAC opener against Rose-Hulman with a record of 3-2-3 overall this season. 
* The team comes off a win over Heidelberg with a final score of 2-1.
* JJ Meyer leads the team with two goals and five points so far this season.
* Zach Johnson and Angel Velasco-Urbina have split time in the goal for the Beavers with Johnson leading the team with 13 saves, a goals-against average of 0.89, and a save percentage of 81.3%.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Bluffton will continue HCAC play traveling to take on Hanover on Saturday, October 5 at 3:30 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman is undefeated in the all-time series against Bluffton with a record of 19-0.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won all 19 matches dating back to the 2006 season.
* Rose-Hullman defeated the Beavers last year with a final score of 2-1. 
* The team has a record of 8-0 when traveling to face Bluffton.
